The education sector was among the hardest hit, with significant damage to school infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Less than a year later, in September 2024, Hurricane John struck the region again, compounding the conditions and challenges facing recovery efforts for homes, streets, and schools; today, a different story is being written\u2014one of reconstruction, resilience, and the power of collaboration.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The power of joining forces<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMultiplicando Alegr\u00edas\u201d reflects what is possible when different organizations align around a shared purpose: generating real and sustainable impact.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alliance brings together key stakeholders from the social and business sectors, including:<br\/>Fundaci\u00f3n ARA, Fundaci\u00f3n CAAAREM, Fundaci\u00f3n Chedraui, Fundaci\u00f3n Coca-Cola M\u00e9xico, Fundaci\u00f3n Compartamos, Fundaci\u00f3n Diez Morodo, Fundaci\u00f3n Familia Bocar, Fundaci\u00f3n Gigante, Fundaci\u00f3n Kaluz, Ni\u00f1os en Alegr\u00eda, Fundaci\u00f3n Posadas, Promotora Social M\u00e9xico, Fundaci\u00f3n Santander, and the Guerrero State Secretariat of Education.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &#8220;Multiplicando Alegr\u00edas&#8221; alliance concludes a significant phase with the renovation of 19 public elementary schools\u2014now fully operational\u2014surpassing the initial target of 16 campuses. This effort began in 2023 with the assessment of damage and continued in 2024 with rehabilitation work, expanding thanks to a collective effort, synergy among partners, and a shared commitment to transforming education in the communities that need it most\u2014turning these spaces into true hubs for connection and development, as well as vital community shelters during times of crisis.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These schools are part of the Teacher Training and Student Support programs\u2014initiatives focused on strengthening teachers&#8217; pedagogical tools through continuous professional development, with the aim of enhancing the impact on their students&#8217; learning.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complementarily, student support is fostered through Peace Circles\u2014spaces designed to promote respect, tolerance, and orderly participation as fundamental pillars of school coexistence.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through these programs, comprehensive efforts are made to ensure greater opportunities for children within safe, violence-free environments.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On April 22 and 23, representatives from the participating organizations visited seven of the schools where interventions had taken place, witnessing firsthand the impact of a collective effort that currently benefits 5,321 children, 308 teachers, and 28 administrators\u2014figures that will continue to grow over time. In addition, this project has generated more than 50 local jobs and indirectly impacted 15,274 people in the communities.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More than infrastructure: spaces that transform lives<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The actions implemented go beyond physical reconstruction. Each intervention was designed to restore dignity, safety, and functionality to the educational spaces, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Construction and renovation of classrooms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rainwater harvesting systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restroom upgrades<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roofing repair<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rehabilitation of electrical and hydraulic networks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waterproofing, painting, and structural modifications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These efforts not only foster better learning conditions but also strengthen the capacity of communities to face future challenges.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schools that are once again the heart of the community<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In many of these localities, schools represent the heart of community life: spaces for learning and social interaction, and\u2014in times of emergency\u2014places of shelter for the population.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, thanks to this partnership, these spaces are reclaiming their essential function: serving as safe, dignified places full of opportunities for thousands of children.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An impact that transcends generations<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While this stage marks a conclusion, the impact of Multiplicando Alegr\u00edas is far from over. Every rehabilitated classroom, every reclaimed space, and every strengthened community not only benefits those who occupy these spaces today but also lays the foundation for the development of future generations.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children learning in these schools today will be the ones who, in the future, continue to build stronger, more resilient, and better-prepared communities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because when efforts are joined, it is not just schools that are rebuilt:<br\/>opportunities multiply, the social fabric is strengthened, and the
