There are actions that bring stability back to a family. Others that expand what a child can imagine for their life. Others that strengthen an entire community to face whatever comes. Different in form, different in context, but born from the same place: the conviction that genuine change happens alongside communities, not from outside them. That is what unites the three lines of work of the Fundaci\u00f3n Familia Bocar: children’s homes, formal education, and emergencies. Three causes, one shared commitment.<\/p>\n\n

Children care homes: Joining forces to transform<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Behind every figure is a story that does not tell itself: a child who sleeps better, a caregiver who responds differently, a children’s home that no longer depends on anyone external to sustain what it has learned.<\/p>\n\n

Joining forces to transform” (Sumar para Transformar) is a program implemented by Conexiones de ByDA that supports children’s homes through a holistic mental health model aimed at children and adolescents. The model integrates three specialized approaches: neurofeedback, to strengthen brain self-regulation; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), to reprocess adverse experiences; and body therapy, to integrate emotional memory from the nervous system. It is not a one-time intervention, but rather the strengthening of internal capacities that influence growth, the educational cycle, and the way individuals relate to their environment.<\/p>\n\n

The program operates in two-year cohorts. During that time, work is done not only with the children and adolescents: the teams at each children’s home are trained so that, upon completing the cycle, they can sustain the model with autonomy and continuity. The transformation is not taken away when the project ends; it stays. The second cohort is currently underway, supporting 13 children’s homes in Mexico City and Quer\u00e9taro.<\/p>\n\n

Throughout both cohorts, 619 children and adolescents have participated in the program. In parallel, 351 caregivers have been trained in affection-based parenting, because the quality of the daily bond is an essential part of any wellbeing process. The model is evaluated by Dr. Le\u00f3n Morales Quezada, an affiliated researcher at Harvard University. When the right to development ceases to be an abstract principle and becomes a concrete experience, the impact redefines what every child can imagine for their future.<\/p>\n\n

Formal education: Fostering comprehensive learning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

A child who does not know what to do with what they feel can hardly concentrate on what they learn. That is the premise of Educaci\u00f3n Responsable (Responsible Education), a framework created by the Fundaci\u00f3n Bot\u00edn which, with nearly two decades of evidence, has shown that emotional, social, and creative development is not a complement to education: it is its foundation.<\/p>\n\n

Through ProEducaci\u00f3n, the program is implemented in public elementary schools across the country. Through a digital platform, teachers access learning situations that integrate music, literature, visual arts, and play to practice self-awareness, empathy, and conflict resolution within the curriculum. In 2025, it reached 174 schools across 12 states, benefited 22,480 students, and trained 1,485 teachers.<\/p>\n\n

Soon, the program will expand to 19 schools in Saltillo. Among them, eight will serve the daughters and sons of Grupo Bocar collaborators. For the Foundation, this step has a particular meaning: the conviction that transforming communities also means caring for the families that are part of the organization itself. The people who make Bocar possible deserve to see that same commitment reflected in their children’s education.<\/p>\n\n

Emergencies: Reactivation of community wellbeing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In 2025, torrential rains affected municipalities in San Luis Potos\u00ed and Quer\u00e9taro, damaging homes, crops, and sources of income for thousands of families. When the water receded, the real challenge began: deciding how to move forward.<\/p>\n\n

In partnership with CEMEFI, a national benchmark in articulating social impact strategies, a comprehensive restoration plan is being driven from March to May 2026. The initiative includes the delivery of furniture, the construction of roofs, and the reconstruction of ecological housing for more than 1,000 families. But its scope goes beyond the material. A resilient community does not just recover: it learns to anticipate. Therefore, the program includes training in risk prevention and management, so that populations can face future phenomena with greater autonomy and confidence.<\/p>\n\n

This approach defines the Foundation\u2019s work in emergencies: being there when most needed, and leaving behind something enduring once the immediate presence has ended.<\/p>\n\n

Children care homes, education, emergencies. Three different contexts, one underlying question: how is a real opportunity built? The response of the Fundaci\u00f3n Familia Bocar has always been the same: with patience, with presence, and alongside those who know the needs of their community better than anyone else. Not as a donor watching from the outside, but as an ally walking on the inside.<\/p>\n\n
